If you like short, cutting, no holds barred journalistic writing take a look at this piece by Marion Valentine writing for Canada Free Press. I wish our citizens understood what has happened to America as clearly as Mr. Valentine. If you can’t stand to read an opinion charting the course of socialist enslavement please don’t click on the link. The article is a hard hitting portrait of a nightmare creeping slowly over us in much the same way chefs boil frogs. By the time we realize it, we’re cooked.

Over time, all governments move in that direction. Constant vigilance is the requirement. But most folks would rather be safe than free.
You're right, Charles, and with our representatives buying votes every election with our enslavement I don't know how it can be stopped. Like Ben Franklin said, “When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” Man, he sure saw it coming.
