Pearl Harbor

Lest we forget a time when another enemy thought America was a paper tiger.

I saw that World of Warcraft is releasing a big new gaming system today and I wondered if it was meant to coincide with the date of Pearl harbor. Kind of questionable in my mind either way.

I doubt they're even familiar with the date or who we were at war with, Charles.

My dad was a WWII vet, served in the Pacific, & told us stories about the war.
My mom described hearing the radio broadcast about the attack, and what a state of shock the country was in. She signed on to work at the Pentagon.
It was one of those moments that stayed with that generation forever. Most of them have passed on now, and people often have a rather cavalier attitude about the past. I wonder if this date will live on.

Most have already forgotten, Raine. Even the history books now gloss over the incredible sacrifices made to achieve victory in WWII. Discovery Channel, the Military Channel, and HBO series like 'Band of Brothers' and 'The Pacific' have worked a miracle in reawakening interest in a time we almost lost everything. We have people trying to forget 9/11 ever happened so it's a definite possibility the attack on Pearl Harbor will become a vague asterisk on page 25 of whatever newspapers are still printing.
