Pretty cool. A moment of high terror and excitement there.
It's a little stark when you see that old Bison beating feet for the brush. I'm glad the photographer didn't follow. That damn Griz looked like he already knew the way that scene would end. When the Griz ran by it looked like he was going to wave and smile. Nature is one tough mama.
Saw this on one of the news channels. They reported that, indeed, the bison actually DID escape the bear. Sadly, however, in his terror he ran into a hot spring area & was so badly burned he had to be euthenized.
Didn't seem fair somehow. After all that he deserved to live. :(
There are very few happy endings in nature, Raine. That old bison screwed the Griz out of a meal. To me... he died with his boots on. :)
