Easter Sunday

I am the resurrection, and the life, saith the Lord: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. St. John xi. 25, 26.

Without faith, life takes on the face of endless sorrow without meaning. Faith comforts in a way nothing on earth can mimic, lighting our way through a world of shadows. On this Easter Sunday may faith ease your burden… if only for a moment.

Happy Easter to you. A little more faith would be a good thing

The blessing of faith requires so very little effort too, Charles. Thank you. Happy Easter.

Enjoy indulging your particular superstition. Like alot of superstitions like wearing your lucky shirt to the big game, no doubt it gives you comfort.

But thats all it is, imaginary. Just like your self proclaimed man god, jesus and his imaginary, non existant deity father or the other 600 imaginary, non existant deities prayed to in this world. ( I'll graciously leave out the defunct deities of history like those of the Roman Empire. I mean no one prays to them anymore )

I know, athiests like me and George Carlin get to go to a hot place for not accepting the most popular deity of the day. But there is hope for me and George. More than likely, your imaginary, non existant deity will fall from favor in another millenium or two like those of the Roman Empire and a new imaginary, non existant deity will become the god . Well, george and I didn't bad mouth that deity so it won't send us to a firey place.
See, there is hope for us all.

I believe in the more basic tenet of the bible, whydibuy – ‘Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned’.

It’s a puzzle as to why atheists think the rest of us spend any time wondering where they’ll go after they die. I know I don’t.

George Carlin was right in many ways about organized religion. It has its good points in that it provides salvation and comfort here on earth for many who need to focus on the meaningful things in life rather than the destructive. Far too many religious sects began their existence by condemning anyone who did not believe as they do, thus judging billions of people alive and dead to hell. I would agree with Carlin that path is not very Christian. In conclusion, whydibuy, since you don’t believe in God – may the force be with you.

You don't think about were you'll go after you die.

Totally disingenuous statement meant only to fool yourself.

Afterlife is THE big draw for religions. If followers don't get that, whats in it for them?
I mean, why rack up brownie points with some deity every Sunday ( yes, the SUNS day. This deity who created the universe and all things and life can't even get a day named after it.) if this deity is not going to offer you anything in return.

You're only fooling yourself. Its THE reason you fall on bended knee to your imaginary deity of choice.

Calm down, whydibuy. You'll have to learn to read with comprehension before you blast off.

"It’s a puzzle as to why atheists think the rest of us spend any time wondering where they’ll go after they die. I know I don’t."

Plainer Language - We who believe don't spend any time wondering where all the atheists go, especially me. :)
