NASA's Deep Impact spacecraft still floating around out there after completing its mission in 2005 managed to do another comet fly-by and send pictures Comet. Amazing how we can create a vehicle to explore space for years of research in the most adverse conditions imaginable. With all the technological advancements NASA gives us from the intense creativity involved in our now shelved shuttle program and projects like Deep Impact we need to shave some money from all branches of our government to support them. If we demanded that all congressional staff and 'fact finding missions' be done away with NASA could be funded into the next century. Just sayin' :)

Yeah, government could take some lessons from NASA. Course, maybe we all could. MOst of us at least.

(and must admit, was surprised by the shape of the thing...expected it to be round, or at least oblong--not sure why!).
It is an odd shape, Raine, probably a more reality based example of what comets look like. I always pictured round too. We get so many technological advances from our space exploration program it's insanity to scale back NASA. I volunteer to scale back congressional excesses and find the funding at no cost to the taxpayers. :)
