US Health Care To The Rescue

Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams needs heart surgery. He’s scheduled the surgery in the United States. I guess further comment is unnecessary. The article is interesting in that Premier Williams promises to talk about the ordeal after he has time to recover. Maybe it would be good for both of our countries at this time if he simply explained why he decided to have the surgery done in the US. I pray we still have United States health care a few years from now when other Canadians need it.

I'd like to hear that explanation myself.

It reminds me of the health care plan our congress has, Charles. Those two-faced rats won't be changing their coverage to the monstrosity they're trying to foist on us. In Premier Williams case, I guess National Health Care is great until you need something important done.

Reminds me of the Henry Ford hospital here in Detroit.

A relative worked as a nurse there and was surprised to encounter so many canadians from across the Detroit river in Windsor coming over for treatment.

The reason mainly was the triage system in Canada. People who contracted cancer were often pushed down the line if they were over 40. She learned that many would be given treatment dates several months to a year out.
In cancer terms, you could go from stage 1 to stage 3 level in that time. And guess what?? You could be bumped down again for poor prognosis.

Yeah, no wonder the Ca. politician is running here for treatment. Wonder if Hillary will trumpet his Exodus from Canadian care as an example of quality health care we should be following.

Way agree with the outrage of U.S. politicians deftly excluding themselves and the gov employees from their health scam. What two faced crooks.

You have it right, Whydibuy. The triage system is what national health care uses to keep from going totally bankrupt, although in Canada parts are already bankrupt. The patients succumb to disease before they can run up any nasty health care bills.

Have you noticed how not one media elite has asked any of our congressional phonies why they get to keep their health care while trying to savage ours?
