Sgt. David McNerney passed away. He won the Medal of Honor in Vietnam at the age of thirty-five. This link Hero is the best description I could find of the nearly impossible feat he achieved decades past. Men who served with him came from all over for his funeral. Rest in peace, Sergeant. Your love of country and unflinching heroic service to this nation will never be forgotten by the men you saved that day so long ago. It is an honor to be a citizen of the same nation as such a man.
