Three Rivers

First off let me say I like Alex O’Laughlin a lot. He’s a good actor and 'Moonlight' was one of my favorite shows. In his new show ‘Three Rivers’, he’s lost some weight and looks good in the role. The show sucks. I can’t and won’t pinpoint any one actor, actress, or plot device. I do watch ‘House’. I admit I’m sick of medical shows. :) The show in my opinion missed on every level. It’s dreary, humorless, unfocused, and they gave Alex some God lines promising people in dire condition he’ll make them better than ever. We turned it off with twenty minutes to go. O’Laughlin needs to find a script with him in a bad ass role with the blonde from Moonlight partnering up with him. Sorry ‘Three Rivers’, last night was my last glimpse at that show. I’d rather clean the cat-box.

Love, love, LOVE Alex, but my mom thought the same thing about the show. It's just not happening.

It's a shame too, Jordan. That roll is way off for him. I can think of much better character scripts he'd be perfect for. Doctor is not one of them. The reason 'Three Rivers' really bombed for me - no chemistry. That has to be the most mismatched cast I've seen in a long time.

I haven't seen it. I haven't watched a medical show since marcus Welby MD. A new show I've been liking is flashforward.

'House' is the first medical show I've consistently watched since 'Ben Casey' and 'Dr. Kildare', Charles - so I'm probably not a qualified critic. :) 'Three Rivers' is inundated with the main element I hate about medical dramas - pathos. 'Royal Pains' is a new concept medical show I'm hoping will steer clear of the pathos theme. 'Flashforward' is under consideration.

You're talking about complete unknowns to me... but it's a good thing when you have the will power to turn off the tv in the middle of a show that disappoints you.

After the first part of the show, Vesper, it was easy to cut it short. It's probably best if 'Three Rivers' stays unknown to you. :)

Haven't seen it, probably wouldn't anyway. Only saw the first episode of "Moonlight", and while I thought Alex was cute, the first show didn't do anything for me so I didn't continue.

I do watch "House". I didn't think I'd like it because he's such an ass, but it works for me.
Other than that, "Criminal Minds", & "True Blood", can't say I have any favs...

'House' lacks the pathos aspect other medical shows try to thrive on. Just when one of the other characters starts diving into the 'pathos' pool, House drains it and they hit face first in cement. :) I like 'Criminal Minds' too, Raine, and I rent 'True Blood'. 'True Blood' found two main characters with chemistry as 'Moonlight' did. Unfortunately, 'Three Rivers' didn't.

Somehow House doesn't work for me. Probably because I have seen Hugh Laury in other, very funny, programmes. I just can't get used to THAT voice!

I don't know Alex O'Laughlin or the show but I'm afraid it's the same here. Dreary scripts. A turn off after a few minutes............... Or is it that we get older?

'Or is it that we get older?'

That may be it exactly, MD. I've noticed my patience for whiners and pathos has dropped precipitously over the years. :)

I haven't seen it over here -- yet! lol

I'm not really into medical programmes myself but I am a fan of NCIS :)

NCIS and the Mentalist are my two favorite shows, Miladysa. 'House' is the only medical show I can stomach. I liked 'Royal Pains' first season but it remains to be seen if they will lapse into the usual medical show pathos I hate. :)
