I would have thought that e-mail most damaging to any idea of an actual warming trend since 1998 because everyone else based their opinions on the falsified East Anglia data, including the UN.BernardLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09722619048888613647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1405576651020920367.post-68258155929721490102009-12-13T11:29:08.968-08:002009-12-13T11:29:08.968-08:00Nasa's satellite studies on anything global wa...Nasa's satellite studies on anything global warming related date back only to 1979, Charles. Since then, they have obfuscated any facts or new data which went against their global warming cash cow. You've stated you wish money and politics weren't part of this. Well, Nasa is one of the most politicized and money driven organizations in the world.BernardLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09722619048888613647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1405576651020920367.post-41955301077783985512009-12-13T08:54:07.990-08:002009-12-13T08:54:07.990-08:00I tend to use NASA for my data.

I'm sure there are an equal number denying it. I will give you one of the East Anglia E-mails explaining why many thought the temps were going up, including scientists using East Anglia data, as Prof. Phil and his boys played 'Hide The Decline'.

Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,
Once Tim’s got a diagram here we’ll send that either later today or
first thing tomorrow.
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. Mike’s series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.
Thanks for the comments, Ray.

Cheers
Phil

Prof. Phil Jones
Climatic Research Unit Telephone +44 (0) xxxxx
School of Environmental Sciences Fax +44 (0) xxxx
University of East Anglia
Norwich Email p.jones@xxxx.xxx
NR4 7TJ
UK

If you're interested, here's an article illustrating how they pumped the figures in New Zealand.

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/11/25/uh-oh-raw-data-in-new-zealand-tells-a-different-story-than-the-official-one/#more-13215BernardLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09722619048888613647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1405576651020920367.post-53233976569030408082009-12-11T15:05:54.609-08:002009-12-11T15:05:54.609-08:00I'm trying to figure out where you get your da...I'm trying to figure out where you get your data that the world has been cooling since 1998. My understanding from the data is that atomspheric temperatures climbed pretty much throughout the entire 90s and then have been holding relatively steady, although the evidence is pretty strong that global ocean temps have continued to rise to the present day.Charles Gramlichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02052592247572253641noreply@blogger.com
