When Islamists go to war against each other as in Syria Mosque Attack, they don’t fool around with protecting the sanctity of religious houses – mostly because they know other murderous brethren will use the mosques as staging grounds for attacks. I’ll give the monsters credit – at least they know you can’t win a war with your hands tied behind your back. If we’d waged war against the Islamists as they wage it against each other we would have the hearts and minds of the Muslim world with us right now – or they’d be dead. Instead, we have fifth column terrorist sympathizers in our media and government with no idea whose side they’re on, busily making America a safe haven for terrorists, while turning our own citizens’ lives inside out with agencies like Homeland Security. Headed by the most incompetent boob in American history, Janet (Barney Fife) Napolitano, the agency has progressed from stopping terrorist infiltrators to aiding them while installing pat-downs for five-year-olds at airports. Along with her cohort at CIA and now in the Pentagon, Leon (Cut The Military But Save C.A.I. R.) Panetta, I figure America will have to rely on divine intervention to survive.

Verdict is Death
Sila Sahin posed on the cover of, and did a 12 page pictorial spread inside, a German version of Playboy Islamic Storm Clouds. She acts in a German ‘soap’ and according to her the Playboy pictorial constitutes a reaction to the slavery of her youth. Raised in Germany by two traditional Islamic Turkish parents, I’m quite certain she felt a bit restrained growing up. Although I think acting and being successful on an independent basis would have been enough of a statement, the pictorial was apparently meant to be a stark statement of rebellion. It has achieved the desired result – her Mother and Father are shocked and Mom cut off all ties. With the number of ‘honor’ killings in Germany’s Muslim immigrant population, the cops better put an ankle bracelet on Dad. Ms. Sahin is getting threats now to her life both veiled and outright.
‘A kebab shop owner, asked on German TV what he would do if Sila were his daughter, replied: "I would kill her. I really mean that. That doesn't fit with my culture."’ And what culture is that… why the culture of death… of course.
Since these pious followers of Islam supposedly don’t look at pornography (they only read the articles) what would it matter to any of them what Ms. Sahin does? It certainly shouldn’t rate a death sentence. It used to be when kids rebelled against parents they were left alone to fall on their face or grow up to realize rebellion ain’t always as romantic as it seemed in youth. In Sharia Law, the Islamists cure this rebellious period with death. I pray Ms. Sahin avoids the cure.

Water Pipelines
Does anyone else wonder why if we can have fuel pipelines running in all directions across the country, then why can’t we have water pipelines from places like the one in Missouri mentioned in this article Floods to other places like Texas suffering a drought? In my state of California where it’s common to have droughts we have pipelines from our often dry north to our always dry south. I can’t understand why we don’t run a pipeline from the states north of us to siphon off water threatening to overflow. There must be something I’m missing, because it would be well worth the expense for dry places in this nation to be connected to often flooded sections. In a drought states can lose a fortune in lost produce, not to mention the fire devastation like Texas is suffering through.

Nanoparticle Highlight
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) kills a lot of people. It’s found in hospitals, health clubs, schools, and nearly everywhere people gather. I’ve had people I know die or end up in intensive care for weeks because of this bug. Antibiotics don’t kill it. The only thing we have for surviving the bug is a hearty constitution. IBM Research, working with the Singapore based Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology discovered new antibiotic nanoparticles which attack this deadly infection Promising Cure.
Applications, both topical and by injection, of this biodegradable nanoparticle can be used to fight off Superbugs. E-coli bacteria will be a future target along with similar drug resistant bacteria. This new electronically charged treatment must be proven in clinical trials. I would hope it could be used in some real life trials where patients near death could receive it. I’m always puzzled why they can’t widen these clinical trials to include not only a test sample of patients studied in the trials, but also public trials with volunteers in desperate straits who are out of options. The answer is probably the ambulance chasing, class action suit trial lawyers.

Not Kenya
Don Wilkie, writing for the American Thinker, has put together a common sense timeline and refutation of any notion President Obama was born in Kenya Not Kenya. I’ve never understood this birth certificate debate, because if the Hillary Clinton machine could have outed President Obama as foreign born, you can bet it would have been leaked to every news outlet in the country. I’m not sure why President Obama has spent millions keeping it under lock and key, but one thing’s for sure - after reading Mr. Wilkie’s spot on deductions I do believe one thing for certain, no way was President Obama born in Kenya. The fact his Mom found out Obama Sr. had another wife in Kenya at the time and divorced him in the same year President Obama was born is a solid reason she would have never made what would have been an epic journey to Kenya with a late term pregnancy.
I’m as confused as anyone why President Obama doesn’t just put the long form certificate out there, but it is a great way to distract everyone’s attention. One thing I’m not confused about – his supposed birth in Kenya.

Hardcase on the Query Trail
My outline and editing progressed way better than I'd hoped for. With a lot of work, I have three queries out on my new novel HARDCASE already. This is that neat writing time where your head's full of hope and excitement. I'll get an agent. It'll sell a million copies. The movie rights are around the corner. New York wants to contract a three book deal for a fortune. It usually takes about fifty queries before my mouth starts getting dry and the rose colored glasses slip off my nose and shatter on the floor of my auto repair shop. Like they say though, it's not always the destination. It's the journey, young Jedi... or in my case old, old Jedi. :)

The Dark Side
I couldn't pass up embedding this YouTube video of a little girl chosen at Disneyland to join the Jedi academy or whatever. When asked though, she kneels to the 'Dark Lord' instead. The way she does it is hilarious. Her parents were probably in the crowd going, 'uh oh'.

Hardcase
I finished my first person POV novel yesterday with it coming in at 97,000 words before editing. I had more trouble writing it than any other I’ve done. Sometimes, it was great. My main character’s thoughts and internal dialogue were fun to do, and the most laughs I had while writing. Telling the story from one point of view presents many problems. All info dumps, description, action, commentary, and hosts of other small details must be seen and described through the main character’s eyes. I have a new found respect for authors who write best sellers from the first person POV. Janet Evanovitch comes to mind. I don’t know that I’d ever do it again other than a short story.
I settled on ‘Hardcase’ for the title of my novel. It follows a character I debuted on my blog some time ago, who grew up mean, and ran away from his alcoholic father at the age of fourteen. He joins the Marine Corps from Texas under an assumed name. While in special ops overseas, he’s recruited by a CIA agent who sees something in John Harding besides his knack for languages and combat skill. Denny Strobert knows he’s found a killer. The story begins in a back alley warehouse in East Oakland, where Harding fights for money, and to keep his skills honed, coupled with the fact he likes it. Harding does odd jobs with the only guy he trusts implicitly, his handler and manager, Tommy Sands. They bodyguard, escort tourists to the Bay Area, and do bail bond, skip trace work for a lawyer named Tess Connagher.
Two events throw Harding’s seamy life in the shadows out into the light. Strobert is ordered to enlist Tess Connaher’s law firm to act as an intermediary with Harding in order to protect an outspoken Afghani woman whose family Harding protected long ago. The woman’s father requested him, and the state department realizes they’ll be off the hook if anything happens to Samira Karim while under Harding’s care. Secondly, Harding fights a particularly brutal fight with a Russian mob backed fighter named Van Rankin who hates Harding. They’d had words. The YouTube video of Harding’s subsequent beat-down of Rankin goes viral along with many of his prior fights. When Rankin’s Russian mobster backer, Alexi Fiialkov pushes for a rematch on the UFC circuit, CIA Agent Strobert sees infinite possibilities since the United Arab Emirates purchase of partial control in the UFC. Some matches would be taking place in Dubai, where the CIA knows targets of opportunity show up from time to time.
Tess Connagher, both fascinated and repulsed by Harding, cannot stay away from him. She rapidly finds out Harding is not some East Oakland leg breaker, and being around him can be very dangerous whether you’re his friend or his enemy. She makes a couple errors in judgment. She thinks she can control him and she uses him to help her older sister, Lora.
Finishing the last line of the story yesterday was one of those moments where I forgot all about the multitude of POV problems and remembered why the hell I do this in the first place. :)
